The Empire State Development Board of Directors has approved over $17 million in funding for 17 economic development projects across the state.

Oneida County will get a $350,000 grant for a portion of the cost of renovations to an airplane hangar and construction of 3,200 square feet of office space at Griffiss International Airport in Rome.

The renovated hangar will be used by NUAIR, which runs the UAS test site at Griffiss.

The projects approved by the board will directly create 387 new jobs and retain 485 existing jobs.
