New Terminal At Griffiss International Airport Opens [VIDEO]
A ribbon cutting was held today at the brand new Gateway Terminal at Griffiss International Airport in Rome.
Construction on the new $7.5 million terminal began in June of last year.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says today marks an important step in the evolution of the airport from a shuttered air force base to an international hub of technology, aviation and innovation.
Million Air, which provides Fixed Based Operations Service at Griffiss, will occupy the entire first-floor of the Terminal Building. Their space includes a customer service area, cafe, flight planning area, theater room and a conference room, as well as office space.
The new facility also includes a Customs Inspection building for international travelers.
It includes a customer waiting area and inspection area located in the center of the facility.
