Oneida County’s Marine Patrol Unit Rescues 6 on Oneida Lake
Sylvan Beach, NY (WIBX) - According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office's Marine Patrol Unit responded to a report of a vessel taking on water and possibly sinking into Oneida Lake, it was reported that it had struck a Rock Wall.
Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that the vessel, a 16ft 1996 SeaRay, did not hit the rock wall but was taking on water. All 6 passengers of the vessel were sitting on the rock wall unharmed and awaiting assistance.
The operator of the vessel was 62-year old Kerry Krna, of Binghamton, NY. The Sylvan Beach Fire Department's Water Rescue Boat also assisted at the scene.
