Continuing work on the North-South Arterial Project has the DOT closing two ramps in Utica today. 

The Route 12 south ramp to State Street along with the State Street Ramp from Oriskany Street will be closed to traffic during the installation of steel beams over Oriskany Street. The ramps will be reopened to traffic at the end of the work day, according to Utica Police officials.

Motorists traveling south on Route 12 wanting to access Route 5S east will be directed to exit on to I 790 east, right on to Genesee Street south, onto Broad Street east, to Route 5S east.

Motorists traveling east on Route 5S/Oriskany Street wishing to access Route 12 north will be directed to stay on Route 5S/Oriskany Street east, left onto John Street, merge onto Genesee Street north, right onto Auert Ave, right onto I-790 west/Route 5 west, to Route 12 north.

Signed detours will be utilized to advise motorists of the ramp closures and direct traffic to the appropriate detour routes.

The work will be conducted weather permitting.
