Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri conducted his first Quality of Life Sweep of 2016 on Wednesday.

Palmieri says while the sweep usually begin in April, they decided to take advantage of the weather and get an early start.

The sweep began at the intersection of Park Avenue and Hopper Street.

Since taking office, Palmieri and his department heads have conducted Quality of Life Sweeps every Wednesday from April through December.

Palmieri says in those four years, they've covered over 300 miles of city streets.
