Palmieri Releases Information On UFD Investigation

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri says there have been a number of rumors, mistruths and allegations regarding recent incidents involving the Utica Fire Department.

Palmieri says the public needs to know the truth and facts.

The mayor says in an effort to provide accurate and factual information, he's releasing as much information as the City can legally disclose.

Palmieri has released a 16 point "fact sheet" concerning the allegations and the subsequent investigation.

The mayor says the City was not made aware of the allegations until March 14th of this year.

Temporary Fire Chief John Kelly resigned following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a prospective recruit.

Palmieri says that Chief Russell Brooks cannot be reinstated as chief due to his ongoing medical status.
