HARTSDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a woman's blood alcohol content was four times over the legal limit when her vehicle slammed into another in a northern New York City suburb, killing a couple in their 80s.

Police say 43-year-old Michelle Bonet's minivan smashed into a car in Hartsdale in Westchester County on Friday. Eighty-year-old Carmelo Sbezzi and his 82-year-old wife Henrietta, both of Tarrytown, suffered serious injuries and later died.

WCBS-TV in New York reports police say Bonet had dropped off at least one of her children at school, drank at a bar for several hours and then got behind the wheel of the minivan. Officials say her BAC was 0.35 percent.

The White Plains resident has been charged with vehicular manslaughter. She's being held Tuesday in the county jail.

It wasn't immediately known if she has an attorney.
