Police Investigate Drowning Of 1-Year-Old Child In NY Pool
LISLE, N.Y. (AP) — State police say they're investigating the accidental drowning of a 1-year-old child in a pool at an upstate New York home.
Troopers announced over the weekend that authorities received a 911 call around 5 p.m. last Wednesday reporting an unresponsive baby at a home in the Broome County town of Lisle, 15 miles north of Binghamton.
Police say the child had fallen into a pool and was underwater for a short time before being found and removed from the water by a family member.
The baby was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City and was pronounced dead.
Troopers say the manner of death was ruled accidental.
The investigation is ongoing.
