Prison Sentence In Home Invasion Death Of Comic Collector

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A former carnival worker has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a home invasion burglary that was blamed for the death of a comic book collector.

Acting U.S. Attorney James Kennedy says 47-year-old Albert Parsons of Rochester was one of three people who burglarized the Medina home of 78-year-old Homer Marciniak.

The victim was tied up and robbed of his comic book collection, along with cash and coins. He died of a heart attack a short time later.

Prosecutors say the robbery grew out of a shoplifting ring that stole millions of dollars in merchandise from retail stores and sold it on eBay.
