Rabid Fox Found In Newport

Herkimer County Public Health has confirmed the second case of a rabid animal in Herkimer County this year.

Public Health officials say man was attacked by a fox near his home in Newport.

The animal was sent to Wadsworth Laboratory and confirmed to be rabid.

Herkimer County Public Health is reminding everyone that all wild animals could be potentially rabid and to use caution if you see any wild animal acting strangely.
