A Richfield Springs man is facing several charges following a welfare fraud investigation.

The Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit has arrested 36-year-old David Comstock with assistance from the Herkimer County Office of Social Services.

It is alleged that Comstock gave false information about his household income. As a result he received $5,668 in New York Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Benefits he was not entitled to.

Comstock is facing felony charges of Welfare Fraud in the 3rd degree and Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree. He was arraigned in the Village of Herkimer Court and is being held in the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail.
