Rochester Man Convicted Of Killing Bystander After Crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A 45-year-old Rochester man has been convicted of second-degree murder for shooting a bystander after a vehicle crash in the city last fall.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says Eric Clay of Rochester was also convicted Tuesday of attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Prosecutors say Clay and neighbor got into an argument after an accident last Nov. 2. Officials say Clay fired one round from a shotgun at the neighbor, missing him but hitting and killing 25-year-old Justin Crowder.

Clay is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 27 in Monroe County Court.
