Rome, NY (WIBX) - A Rome man is in jail after fleeing the scene of a domestic incident, then hiding from Sheriff's Deputies.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a dispute at the Countryside Apartments on January 13th.

But, when they arrived, Scott Stockbridge, 52, had already left the apartment.

Deputies later learned he had allegedly been hiding in one of the complex's vacant apartments.

Stockbridge was arrested this morning by the Sheriff's Road Patrol and Criminal Investigation units, and charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt, and one count of Criminal Trespass, Menacing and Harassment.

Rome Police also had a bench warrant out for Stockbridge, who had failed to pay a fine. He was sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $10,200 bail.
