Rome Man Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges

State Police in Herkimer have arrested a Rome man on sex abuse charges.

28-year old  Michael Hartman is charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrest stems from an alleged incident that happened on August 31st in the Town of Newport involving sexual contact with a child less than 11 years old.

Hartman was sent to the Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
