TROY, N.Y. (AP) — A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of an upstate New York man whose roommate also was found slain last week.

Police in Troy 26-year-old Cresencio Salazar was captured in New York City on a second-degree murder warrant in the killing of 23-year-old Javier Gomez. Police say Gomez was found beaten and stabbed to death inside his Troy apartment on Oct. 17.

The body of his roommate, 24-year-old Cristian Gonzalez Hernandez, was found the next night in a creek outside Troy.

Authorities in Virginia arrested three other men connected to the slayings last week. They're being held in jail pending an extradition hearing next month.

Salazar is being held in the Rensselaer County Jail pending his arraignment Tuesday. It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
