Rome Man Charged With Sexually Abusing A Child

A Rome man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a child following a several week-long investigation by the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

26-year old Michael Egelston is charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators say the incident happened in Rome during the overnight hours of May 31st into June 1st.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible
