The subject of a nearly two-week man hunt by Rome Police has been captured.

Rome police officials say Robert Coffin was apprehended in Las Vegas on Friday. Coffin is suspected of murdering 25-year-old Thomas Shepherd Jr. on August 19, 2017 outside of a business near Woodrow Ave.

Coffin, 35, is being extradited to the local area.

Rome Police say they'll release more information on the arrest this weekend.

Local authorities say they were assisted in tracking down Coffin by the New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force, the US Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
