New York State Police are investigating a school bus involved accident that happened Monday at State Route 13 and Elpis Road in the Town of Vienna.

Authorities say, three vehicles including a Camden School District bus were involved in the crash.

Troopers say, a van being operated by 64-year-old Francis Mantelli was traveling north on Route 13 when he failed to keep right of the roadway and side-swiped the bus and a Ford Focus.

As a result, the bus traveled off the roadway, struck a guide wire for a National Grid pole and then hit a tree.

Mantelli was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for treatment, the driver of the Ford Focus was brought to Rome Memorial for evaluation and the students and driver of the bus were uninjured.

Mantelli was issued a ticket for failure to keep right.
