ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A team from SUNY Cobleskill has won a prestigious dairy cattle judging competition.

Students from the school's animal science and agriculture programs placed first and second at the 178th Royal Highland Show in Scotland, which brings together more than 2,100 competitors from around the world.

Teams are scored based on their knowledge of the animals and their judging ability. The students from SUNY Cobleskill are all enrolled in the school's animal industry, animal science and agricultural business management programs.

University President Marion Terenzio says SUNY Cobleskill is "very proud" of the students for their success on the global stage.

The winning students' instructor, Carrie Edsall, says she is "beyond excited" by her team's win.
