Utica, NY (WIBX) - So-called "high end" games like roulette might be in the cards for area casino gamblers.

The Oneida County Legislature is officially requesting that Vernon Downs be chosen as one of the 7-privately owned casinos in New York State that are being considered for table games.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is pushing for an amendment to the State Constitution that would permit such games saying that the move would bring revenue and jobs to the New York economy.

Oneida County apparently agrees. The resolution put forth by the legislature says that Vernon Downs is "one of the most logical" choices because of its centralized location and existing infrastructure.

The letter is being forward to the State Senate and Assembly, as well as the Governor's office.
