Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann didn’t exactly get a warm welcome as she delivered a foreign policy speech in South Carolina last week. In fact, she was heckled off the stage by the loud protests of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators.

GOP presidential candidate and Tea Party darling Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, won her first victory of the campaign season at Saturday’s Ames Straw Poll in Iowa. Out of 16,892 votes cast, she claimed 4,823 of them, narrowly edging out second-place finisher, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, by only 152 votes.

Minnesota Rep. and Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann officially announced her candidacy for the 2012 presidential election on Monday.
