Stay cool this summer by floating the day away on one of New York's beautiful rivers. There are several options, including one lazy tubing trip that takes you to a private island.

In a Facebook post posted over the weekend, they said that "unsafe transportation of the tubes and other safety issues have driven us to this decision."

With rapid conditions in that creek, it was perfect for their training. See exactly what they did.

New state rules are forcing a popular Central New York tubing company to end floating trips down the river for the rest of the summer season.

Locals who know the water well are urging people not to attempt tubing for a little while.

Rivers, lakes and streams are overflowing from the heavy rains in central New York. It's so bad a camp was seen floating down West Canada Creek.

A $130,000 state grant will assist with construction costs to shore up  the East German Street Extension along the West Canada Creek in the Town of Herkimer.
