Theological School Receives Approval To Landmark Campus

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A theological school in upstate New York is moving ahead with a plan to sell its campus and relocate to a new building located on the same campus.

The plan has the support of the Rochester community, with the Rochester Preservation Board voting unanimously to designate most of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School's campus as a landmark. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports (http://on.rocne.ws/2vSc53a ) that the part of the campus exempted from this designation would be part of the site where officials plan to build the new college building.

Chief Operating Officer Thomas McDade Clay says the plan preserves the campus without impeding progress.

Colgate Rochester has an enrollment of about 130 students, most of whom do not live on campus.
