Three Rescued From Sinking Boat On Oneida Lake
Verona, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says three people had to be rescued after a 22-foot cabin cruiser struck an underwater object on Oneida Lake.
Deputies say 48-year old John Ready of Oneida hit the unknown object near the Barge Canal in the vicinity of the lighthouse and the boat started to take on water.
Ready and two passengers were pulled from the vessel.
The boat then capsized and sank in 8 to 10 feet of water.
No serious injuries were reported.
The accident is still under investigation.
Last week, a man and his two sons died when their boat hit a buoy and sank on Oneida Lake.
