Time is Running Out to Re-Certify NYS Pistol Permits

The deadline is almost here for pistol permit holders to submit their permit re-certification to the New York State Police.

January 31, is the deadline for re-certification if a pistol owner obtained their permit before January 15, 2013.  Permits obtained after that date must be re-certified by the 5^th year anniversary of the date when the permit was originally obtained.

Failure to re-certify will result in the automatic revocation of the pistol permit and an owner’s right to possess the weapon.
