UPD: Suspects Suspicious Activity Led To Arrest, Drug Charges
Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police officials say they arrested two people following a report about their suspicious activity in the middle of the roadway -- possibly involving a gun -- on Schuyler Street in Utica early this morning.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. when law enforcement officials stopped 26-year-old Aaron McClain of Rome, and 20-year-old Jamique Nelson of Utica, and allegedly found both in possession of Heroin, Marijuana and a scale. Officials say they also found a loaded .380 caliber handgun in a nearby driveway.
McClain and Nelson are charged with 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, as well as a charge for walking in the roadway, (failure to use sidewalk ticket). According to the report, an investigation into the handgun is still ongoing, and both suspects could face additional charges.
