Utica Man Charged with DWI After Being Pulled Over for Speeding

A Utica man is facing DWI charges following a traffic stop in Verona.

Troopers say they observed a 2010 Ford Mustang traveling on Route 365 allegedly driving 86 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per hour zone.

Police pulled over and interviewed the driver, 46 year-old Alfred Wehrle, and noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Sobriety tests indicated that Wehrle appeared to be intoxicated.

He was transported to the Oneida State Police barracks where a breath test determined his BAC to be .17%. He was charged with DWI and speeding. He will appear in the Town of Verona Court on May 23, 2017.
