The Utica Youth Common Council is now accepting applications for any any high school student that would like to take part in representing Utica's youth in the City's government.

The announcement was made today by Mayor Robert Palmieri and Youth Common Council President Delvin Moody along with President Elect Trinh Truong.

Truong says she is excited to take the reins after a successful first year of the prgram.

She added that next year the Youth Common Council is planning a program that connects young people with available jobs and volunteer opportunities in the City.

Prospective applicants must write an essay and obtain two letters of recommendation.

Applications can be found on the Youth Common Council's Facebook Page or at Utica City Hall. Applications can be sent to Incoming President Trinh Truong at livestruong@yahoo.com or or dropped off at the Mayor's office by Monday, July 28.
