A video game giant is removing an NHL player from the cover of one of its games over a pending assault investigation.

Electronic Arts, or EA Sports, is removing Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane from the cover of "NHL '16," and says he will not be the face behind the game's launch.

Kane is the subject of a sexual assault investigation.  Specifics regarding the investigation, including a potential timeline for a possible hearing, have not yet been determined.

Blackhawks player Jonathan Toews will be on the cover instead.
