Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

The team reinstated Peterson on Monday after he was deactivated for Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots following charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf says the decision to have Peterson practice fully with the team and play this week was made after significant thought, and they want to let the legal due process play out.

The former NFL MVP and six-time Pro-Bowler is accused of spanking his four-year old son with a switch, leaving bruises and cuts on the boy's back and legs.
