The winter weather will be winding down soon which means it's time for many people to begin their outdoor exercising regiments. Depending on a person's health, that could mean partaking in one of the more extreme exercise campaigns that are popular today;  which begs the question: is a vigorous exercise program better for you than one that is  moderate?

A recent study published in the Journal of American Cardiology looked at the benefits of moderate exercise versus a very intense program such as the popular Cross-Fit plan. Often times, after a client loses the needed weight, the fitness trainer will step-up the program to a new level of intensity.  Researchers say, the study proves that a moderate exercise program is probably more beneficial because it comes with lower risks.

Dr. Prasanna Kumar, Cardiology / Interventional Cardiology at Slocum-Dickson, discusses in the video below, the value of a regular moderate exercise program. He also discusses the importance of a healthy diet and healthy choices in order to avoid heart disease.
