The Utica Yard Dogs dropped their second consecutive game, and first Empire League loss at home in a 28-7 defeat to the Schenectady Spartans on Saturday night at Sauquoit Stadium. 

The Yard Dogs did have an early 7-0 first-lead, but the Spartans returned the ensuing kickoff to tie the game. Utica was unable to answer from there.

Utica dropped to 6-2 in Empire League play. The Spartans leveled up at 4-4.

The Yard Dogs have two regular season matchups remaining: September 8 at Hudson Valley, and they'll host Glens Falls on September 15.
