Utica, NY (WIBX) - Two Utica mothers are accused of endangering the welfare of children, after leaving them home alone while they went out to a local bar. Utica Police arrested 29 year old Jennifer Carruth and 37 year old Tina Shelton at Carruth's Lenox Ave residence after responding to that location to check the welfare of nine children.

According to police, the children were left unattended, their ages range from 2 to 12 and when officers arrived, several of them were crying. The incident happened Friday, May 20th.

Carruth was arrested and charged with seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Shelton was also arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police also notified the child abuse/neglect hot-line.
