Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is the winner of Tuesday's Republican primary for the 22nd Congressional District seat.

Tenney received 41-percent of the vote in the three-way race for the seat that will be vacated by Richard Hanna at the end of the year.

“I am honored and humbled that the people of this district have entrusted me to lead them.  I am grateful to the hundreds of supporters who contributed their time and money to our grassroots campaign.  I am cannot thank my great staff enough" said Tenney.

Tenney will face Democrat Kim Myers in the upcoming November election.

The 22nd congressional district includes Madison, Oneida, Cortland and Chenango Counties as well as parts of others.

Claudia Tenney  8,869  (41%)

Steve Wells 7,195  (33%)

George Phillips 5,308  (24%)
