The Grand Marshals for Utica's Independence Day Parade have been announced.

Mayor Palmieri and the Genesis Group announced today that all of our area colleges including College Presidents and their campus communities will serve as co-grand marshals.

"Education is a billion dollar industry in our region and plays a key role in our local economy," said Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri. "I thank all our academic institutions for their partnership and support of our community."

Some of the schools represented will be Utica College, Herkimer College, USC, MVCC and SUNY-IT.

The 4th of July parade will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 4th, in front of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and will be followed by a 'Party in the Park' at Proctor Park from 6:00 until 9 with fireworks at dusk.
