Construction at Bassett's Herkimer Health Center continues to move smoothly, as the organization looks to expand its outpatient services.

Workers have been renovating the 19,000 square foot space next to the Center to help keep up with an increased demand for services.

Officials say when the space is completed in the fall, it will host several "pods," with three to five exam rooms each. Pods are considered complementary to the medical home model of service, which is based around the patient.

Other sections at the Center will also expand, such as Bassett's cancer services and Convenient Care. The organizations says cancer services will add three more chemotherapy chairs, while Convenient Care will add four to five more exam rooms.
