Broome Sheriff’s Deputy Hurt in Crash

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy is recovering from minor injuries after his patrol car was hit by a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Front Street and Old Front Street in the Town of Dickinson.

Witnesses told authorities that the Toyota SUV driven by Brad Ashbaugh allegedly failed to stop at a red light, crossed several lanes of Front Street and hit the northbound squad car at 10:24 p.m. October 24.

Front Street traffic was reduced to one lane for about an hour.

Ashbaugh unhurt and was ticketed.

The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.
