BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has created a task force to review and recommend policies and procedures in dealing with sexual abuse allegations made by adults against clergy.

The diocese says the Adult Sexual Abuse and Misconduct Task Force will ensure the diocese's policies for adult abuse complement the policies on child abuse. The task force will consist of five members and will review the investigation framework to ensure it is in compliance with federal and state law, canon law and the diocese's code of conduct.

Bishop Richard Malone has previously acknowledged he had "fallen short" in addressing claims of misconduct involving adult alleged victims.
