The Utica Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at D & D Auto on Rutger Street.

Fire officials say the call came in just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Fire crews were initially dispatched to Belmont Avenue, but while in route received the correct address.

On arrival firefighters observed heavy smoke coming from all sides of the building. Due to heat and smoke, locating the fire was difficult.

The fire was finally under control just after 2 a.m. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
