The Oneida County District Attorney's Office has been awarded a nearly $700,00 grant by the New York State Office of Victim Services.

District Attorney Scott McNamara says the three-year grant will allow the D-A's Office to substantially expand its victim-witness program.

Under the Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program, the District Attorney's office will add three Victim-Witness Coordinators to its staff.

Their responsibilities include accompanying victims and witnesses to court appearances and acting as an intermediary between victims and the various services they may need.

McNamara says his office looks forward to working with the New York State Office of Victim Services to ensure that the victims and witnesses of crimes in Oneida County receive the justice they deserve and are entitled to.
