Drivers To See Road Closure In Herkimer

Drivers traveling through Herkimer on Wednesday, May 22nd may have to make a couple changes to their commute, as part of Mohawk Street will be closed for the day.

Route 28/Mohawk Street will be closed between the Herkimer Thruway entrance and Fifth Avenue, while the Department of Environmental Conservation and Village of Herkimer conduct a training exercise to erect a flood wall.

Mohawk Street will be closed all day, from 7 in the morning until 7 in the evening, and detours will be placed to help drivers navigate the closure.

Motorists are being reminded that fines area also doubled if they speed in a work zone.
