Erin Hamlin In Striking Range Halfway Through Women’s Olympic Luge
Remsen's Erin Hamlin is within striking distance of a medal after the first day of competition in the Women's Luge at the Pyeongchang games in South Korea.
Hamlin's cumulative score in her first two runs on Monday have her sitting in fifth place overall, .236 seconds behind the pace setter, Natalie Geisenberger of Germany - full results.
“I’m happy,” the four-time Olympian told NBC following her two runs. “Consistency is what I’m looking for. So far, so good.”
Geisenberger is the defending Gold Medalist from the 2014 games in Sochi, where Hamlin took Bronze to become the first American to win an Olympic medal in singles luge.
