The woman who helped two convicted killers escape from a northern New York prison will spend at least two years behind bars.

A judge has sentenced former prison seamstress Joyce Mitchell to a term lasting two and one-third years to seven years.

Last June, Mitchell provided tools to help inmates Richard Matt and David Sweat break out of the Clinton Correctional Facility.

She  had pleaded guilty to promoting prison contraband and a charge of criminal facilitation.  Mitchell cried through most of today's sentencing hearing.

After a three-week manhunt, Matt was shot and killed and Sweat was captured.
