Forestport, NY (WIBX) - Five people have been arrested for allegedly causing damage to the golf course at the Bear Creek Lodge in Forestport.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office say the five were attending a party at the lodge on June 26th when they took golf carts from the caddy shack and drove them over the golf course, damaging the greens.

Deputies say they also ran the carts into trees and over birdhouses, with one cart being driven over an embankment about 50-foot deep.

17-year old Ashley Russell of Lee, 19-year old Matthew Sterna, 20-year old Thomas Alger, 22-year old Nicholas Wiedmer, all from Boonville, and 19-year old James Dale of Leyden, were all charged with criminal mischief.
