A former Utica Common Council candidate has pleaded guilty to a stalking charge in Rome City Court.

Dough Joslin was accused of harassing and threatening Councilwoman Samantha Colosimo-Testa and her family when he ran against her last fall.

As part of the plea, Joslin was served with a one-year stay away order of protection regarding Colosimo-Testa and several of her family members.

Joslin can't go to any public meetings if the protected parties are at the meeting.

He was also fined $500.
