Governor Andrew Cuomo Launches Website Explaining Gun Law

Albany, NY (WIBX) - If you're having trouble understanding Governor Andrew Cuomo's recently signed gun law, a new website explaining it is here to help.

The newly launched site answers many questions posed by the average gun owner, such as what guns are considered assault rifles and if larger magazines are still considered legal.

Starting Monday, an informational hotline will also be available for people to call.

Cuomo's gun measure passed the State Senate and Assembly earlier this week, despite criticism from local lawmakers including State Senators Joe Griffo and James Seward, and Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney.

Residents in the Herkimer County town of Ilion are also concerned the law will affect the future of Remington Arms, the nearly 200 year old factory that employs nearly 1,400 people.
