Syracuse, NY (WIBX) - While the New York State Fair is aiming to break personal attendance records this year, one of its visitors is looking to set his own record, one hot dog at a time.

On August 26th at 5:30 p.m., world champion competitive eater, Takeru Kobayashi, will be at Chevy Court to establish the world record for most bunless Hofmann hot dogs eaten in ten minutes.

The eater says he's "psyched to set a new record on a new stage with a brand he loves" and that he will cruise through the challenge with ease.

Kobi already holds the world record for eating 69 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes, a mark he set in July 2011.

In July, Kobayashi joined the Hofmann Hot Dogs "dream team", signing on as a business partner and brand ambassador. He is also working with fifth-generation owner, Rusty Flook, on his own personalized brand of the famed hot dog.
