NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Police have arrested a 24-year-old Hudson Valley man in connection with the shooting death of another man.

Fabian Corley of Newburgh has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police responding to a report Tuesday of shots fired found 31-year-old Hubert Hines, also of Newburgh, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators say a preliminary investigation has determined the shooting is related to a drug deal. A BB gun and a semi-automatic handgun used during the crime have been recovered by police, along with several pounds of marijuana, several grams of cocaine, suboxone pills and drug packaging material.

It could not immediately be determined if the suspect has an attorney.
