A man taking a walk in the woods found more than he was looking for in Lockport, New York.

The man came across bones that looked like they were human.  He called police and they determined that the remains were indeed those of a male over the age of fifty.  Early forensics reveal that the bones may have been in the area for about three years.

Police say they do not suspect foul play at this time.  They are working with the Niagara County Coroner to identify the remains.

In the meantime authorities are asking that anyone with information about a missing person who may match the description call the New York State Police's Lockport Bureau of Criminal Investigation at: (716) 434.5589.

There is no word yet on how the body may have gotten in the woods.  Lockport is located in the western part of New York state in Niagara County.  It is about twenty-five miles northeast of Buffalo.
