It's AHL All-Star weekend in Utica.

A kick-off event was held today at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

The All-Star Classic Skills Competition will take place on Sunday at the Utica Auditorium at 8:00, with the All-Star game on Monday night at 7:00.

Utica Comet's President Rob Esche says it's going to be a big weekend for hockey fans.

The Turning Stone will be hosting a number of events, including the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony on Monday.

The Lineup of Public All-Star Events at Turning Stone:

Saturday, January 24: In Turning Stone’s Winter Garden from 4pm to 8pm, fans can have their photos taken with the AHL’s Calder Cup, which is awarded to the best team in the AHL every season.

Sunday, January 25: After the All-Star Classic Skills Competition in Utica, fans are invited to an All-Star After-Party at The Gig at 10:30pm with a live performance from Central New York’s own Gridley Paige.  This event does not have a cover charge and is open to the public.

Monday, January 26: Honoring the Class of 2015 inductees, Turning Stone will host the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony in the Showroom at 11am, which also celebrates honorary captains Bill Guerin and Eric Weinrich.  Complimentary tickets for the AHL Hall of Fame Ceremony are available by visiting the Turning Stone Resort Casino box office or by calling 877-833-7469.

Monday, January 26: After the All-Star Classic Game at the Utica Auditorium, Turning Stone will close out the weekend with a “Wild Hockey Karaoke After-Party” at Tin Rooster beginning at 10:30pm.  This event does not have a cover charge and is open to the public.

The AHL All-Star Classic will be televised in front of an estimated television audience of more than one-hundred million households.

Three Utica Comets, goalie Jacob Markstrom, defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti and forward Cal O'Reilly, were voted to the starting lineup by fans.
